Kitchens in the Highlands

We cover the Highlands, from Inverness and the Great Glen across to Argyll, Fort William and up the coast. Highland homes are rarely square, which is exactly what handmade, made-to-measure cabinetry is for.

Two kitchen lines, one team

Homes in the Highlands get the same two choices as everyone else we work with: Impuls German kitchens for precision-engineered, built-to-order cabinetry, or our own bespoke handmade kitchens, hand-built in the Edinburgh joinery where we began in 1983.

We also design, supply and fit the worktops, sinks, taps and appliances, and handle the carpentry, electrics, plastering and building work. One team is responsible for the whole job, with one point of contact from first drawing to final handover.

Highland projects are planned around one continuous installation visit, with delivery timed to the fit so our own team is on site start to finish. All of mainland Scotland is covered. Typical lead time from order is 5-6 weeks, and every installation carries our 5-year guarantee.

Homes we work in around the Highlands

  • Highland croft houses and stone cottages with thick walls and uneven floors
  • Lodges, steadings and holiday lets needing hard-wearing, well-planned kitchens
  • New-build family homes around Inverness and the A9 corridor

Places we cover in the Highlands

Inverness, Nairn, Aviemore, Fort William, Oban, Dingwall, Grantown-on-Spey, Ullapool, Lochaber, Argyll and everywhere between. If you are outside this list we almost certainly still cover you - we design and install across all of mainland scotland.

Kitchens across the Highlands and Argyll

We cover all of mainland Scotland, and that includes Inverness, Nairn, Aviemore, the Great Glen, Fort William, Lochaber, Oban, Argyll and up the coast to Ullapool. Highland projects begin remotely: plans or measurements in, design and a line-by-line quote out, then a survey visit to confirm the room before anything is ordered.

Highland houses are rarely square. Croft houses and stone cottages have thick walls, deep reveals and floors that fall, and older extensions rarely meet the original building at a right angle. Made-to-measure handmade cabinetry solves that properly - built to the room, scribed in and hand-painted - while Impuls German cabinetry suits newer housing around Inverness and the A9 corridor.

Lodges, steadings and holiday properties

A lot of Highland work is lodges, steadings and holiday lets, where the kitchen has to survive heavy, back-to-back use by people who did not choose it. That points to hard-wearing worktops, robust internal fittings, generous storage and a layout that two or three people can work in at once.

Because our own team runs the installation we can plan around changeover dates and hold delivery until the property is empty, then complete the fit in one continuous visit rather than returning over months.

Distance, planned rather than improvised

Distance is a logistics question, not a barrier. Access, delivery vehicle size, single-track approaches, ferry-free routing on the mainland and storage on site are all agreed at survey. Deliveries are timed to the fit, and our joiners stay on site until the kitchen is finished.

Any exceptional travel or accommodation cost on a Highland installation is set out in the quote before you commit, and design, quotation and survey are free. Electrics, plumbing, plastering, flooring and decoration can all be carried by us, which matters more the further you are from a reliable local trade.

the Highlands kitchen questions

Do you really fit kitchens in the Highlands?
Yes. All of mainland Scotland is covered, including Inverness, Lochaber, Argyll and the north west coast. Installation is carried out by our own joiners in one continuous visit.
Is there an extra cost for a Highland installation?
Design, quotation and survey are free. Where a distant installation carries genuine travel or accommodation cost, it is itemised in the quote up front rather than added later.
Can the whole project be handled remotely?
Design and quotation can be, using your plans or measurements plus photographs and video calls. We survey the room in person before ordering, and you are welcome to visit the Edinburgh showroom by appointment.
Which cabinetry suits an old Highland cottage?
Usually our handmade line, because every unit is built to the room's real dimensions and scribed to uneven walls and floors. German cabinetry is a strong option in newer or extended rooms.
