Handmade in-frame kitchen part way through installation in a Scottish home

How we work

Supply only, or the whole job

Some customers want the kitchen delivered and nothing else. Others want to hand over the keys and come back to a finished room. We do both, and everything in between.

Two ways to buy

Supply only

You take delivery of the kitchen and use your own joiner or builder to fit it. We still do the full design, survey and specification, produce the plans your fitter needs, and deliver in one scheduled drop with everything checked off against the order.

  • CAD plans, elevations and an itemised specification for your fitter
  • Cabinetry, fronts, worktops and appliances all ordered through us
  • One delivery to site, checked and signed off with you
  • We stay on the phone to your joiner if a question comes up

Supply and installation

Our own fitting teams take the room from strip-out to handover. You get one programme, one point of contact and one company carrying responsibility for how the kitchen ends up, rather than a chain of trades blaming each other.

  • Site survey and a written programme before anything is ordered
  • Strip-out, removal of the old kitchen and cabinetry install
  • Worktop templating and fitting, appliance install and commissioning
  • Snagging visit and handover with care and warranty paperwork

One stop shop for every trade

A kitchen is rarely just cabinetry. We can carry the whole job, so you are not chasing five separate trades and hoping they turn up in the right order. Take all of it, or only the parts you need.

Electrical

New circuits for ovens, hobs and induction, lighting design including under-unit and plinth lighting, sockets moved to suit the new layout, and certification on completion.

Plumbing & gas

Sink, dishwasher and washing machine feeds, waste runs, boiling water taps and tank installation, radiator moves and gas hob connection by a registered engineer.

Plastering

Making good after strip-out, skimming walls and ceilings, boarding out where walls come down and forming the flat surfaces a handleless kitchen needs.

Flooring

Levelling and screeding, engineered timber, LVT, tiling and underfloor heating, laid in the right sequence with the cabinetry rather than around it.

Painting & finishing

Decoration of the finished room, cornice, skirting and architrave, plus on-site touching in of hand-painted furniture from our own joinery.

Joinery & building work

Openings formed or closed up, bulkheads, window seats, boot room and utility furniture, and the small structural jobs an older Scottish property usually throws up.

From enquiry to handover

First conversation

Send us your plans or a few room measurements and photos. We come back within one working day with a view on what suits the room and a realistic budget range.

02

Showroom appointment

Our Edinburgh showroom at 24 Dalziel Place is open by appointment, so the time is yours. Doors, worktops and appliances in front of you, not on a screen.

03

Design and quotation

CAD plans and elevations with an itemised quote. Supply only and fully fitted are priced separately so you can see exactly what the installation and trades add.

04

Survey and order

A final check measure on site before anything is ordered, then a written programme with delivery and fitting dates.

05

Installation

Trades sequenced in the right order by us. You get one contact throughout, and we leave the site clean at the end of each day.

06

Handover and aftercare

Snagging list cleared, appliances demonstrated, care and warranty paperwork handed over. We are still here afterwards - we have been in Edinburgh since 1983.

Track record

Why we can take on the whole job

The trades came in one at a time, over four decades of Edinburgh work. Here is how the business grew into a one-stop shop.

19832026
  1. 1983

    Brian Cameron opens the doors

The business launches in Edinburgh with a single focus: premium handmade kitchens, built by hand and fitted by the same people who made them.

  2. 1989

Arther Bonet kitchens join the portfolio

A manufactured range is added alongside the joinery work, so customers can choose the handmade route or a factory-built kitchen without leaving the showroom.

  3. 1992

A showroom with 42 kitchen displays

The move to a large Edinburgh showroom lets people see and touch full kitchens rather than samples - 42 displays under one roof.

  4. 1997

    £1.1 million annual turnover

A milestone year, and proof that word of mouth across Edinburgh and the Lothians had become the engine of the business.

  5. 2004

Our first German brand - Schüller

Schüller kitchens arrive, bringing German engineering and precision to sit beside the hand-built cabinetry.

  6. 2008

    From kitchens into whole-home work

Electrical, plumbing, plastering, flooring and finishing are brought in house, so one team can be responsible for the whole job.

  7. 2012

    Building bespoke homes in Edinburgh

The team starts building large bespoke houses in the city - kitchens designed into the architecture from the first drawing.

  8. 2018

Paul Cameron joins the family business

The second generation comes in, and the family name over the door stays exactly that.

  9. 2020

A fresh focus on German kitchens

A renewed push on German kitchens in Edinburgh, with Impuls at the heart of the offer and handmade cabinetry alongside it.

  10. 2026

    New retail showroom, London Road

Paul, Paul and Brian open the new retail showroom on London Road, Edinburgh - the biggest step yet for the next chapter.
